I like the classic looks of the Filson line, but with the exception of a wool auto coat and wool-cashmere overcoat, I've made the switch to all polyester for foul climate. I like the windstopper fleece having a waterproof outer shell. These fabrics breathe and dry quickly, plus they seem to last forever. They're also practically dry once you take them out of the washer.
I know your feelings about Filson's oiled tin cloth Bob, but to me it works pretty effectively and is actually tough stuff.
If either Patagonia or Arcteryx produced moncler jacketss for hunting, I would be employing them and would not be worried within the least in their durability. But they do not, so it is un-oiled Tin Cloth for Upland with Filson Camo(not produced anymore) and Orvis Gore Tex Camo parka and lengthy parka for waterfowl and ll Bean techy Blaze Orange set for deer hunting.
